Teachers provide hope for
a better future.
With over 50% of the
people in Haiti unable to read
or write and over 67% of the population
living in poverty,
children are Haiti's hope for a better future.

Reiser Relief assisting in paying the fees
these disadvantaged children. They receive a
nice uniform, books and a daily mean. Only
about half
of the grade school age children attend school.
Many Haitian
schools lack the funds to pay their
teachers and cooks on a consistent
basis.

In 2009: Terra Promise
school has 425 children in Cite' Sole,
many times the teachers are not paid in a timely manner,
and we need support to keep moving forward.
We help to raise funds to pay
teachers
salaries so that school fees can be low
enough to allow even
the poorest families
to send their children to school.
We are providing education for students and constructed classrooms,
built school benches and given assistance
for school uniforms, school and medical supplies, food and clean water.
School for a year in Haiti, along with providing two uniforms,
shoes
and back pack averages $200 US per child. |

Fresh Water
Delivery:
In 2005, a
plan was formulated
to provide fresh water to the
poor people of Cité Soleil.
The St. Nicholas Knights
of Columbus Council
#12520 of New Market,
Minnesota purchased a
semi-tractor and trailer
equipped with two stainless
steel tanks capable of
holding 3500 gallons of water.

The number one cause for
illnesses is the lack of clean
water and our water deliver program brings life-saving
water daily to those in need.
Fresh water is obtained from
deep wells and trucked
to the areas of need.
The water truck operates six
days a week making four deliveries too many neighborhoods in Cite
Soleil and reaching numerous impoverished families where the local
people carry the water
home in 5 gallon buckets.
Water is also trucked to a water
storage facility which was
created in a previous project.
With your help, we can affect thousands of lives, for they can not
afford to purchase the water on their own, without the water we supply
to these impoverished people they can not survive.
As of March 2008,
the truck has delivered
14,000
gallons of fresh water daily.
We purchased the clean
water
for
the
citizens of the slums, who live in shacks and sleep on the ground.
Haiti remains to be the poorest country in the Northern
Hemisphere, with many
people living in extreme poverty. The social and environmental problems
are the greatest challenges the people of Haiti are facing today.
Have you ever begged for water?
What if you needed to walk over
20
minutes, with a 40lbs. five
gallon bucket on your head, 2-3
times a day
for your family and
you were 8 years old?
In the poor shanty town of Cite Soleil, Haiti, women, children and men
beg to have water truck stop near their shack so they can get clean
water for their families.
Dirty water is one of the greatest causes of malnutrition. Bacteria and
parasites in dirty water can cause severe diarrhea which flushes needed
nutrients from the bodies of children causing malnutrition and even
death?
Clean water can truly be the difference between life and death for many
children in Cite Soleil.
It is only with your help, that free chlorinated water can be
delivered to one of the poorest slums in the western hemisphere.
This red truck provides a life
line to many who live in
extreme poverty
by
making six water runs
a day delivering clean
chlorinated water.
Bucket by bucket people bring
this water back to their homes.
Each load brings 3500 gallons of water, enough for
700 families. Clean water can truly be the difference between life and
death for many children in Cite Soleil.

Help support the water truck in Cité Soleil that delivers 4
loads
of 3500 gallons of clean, safe, drinking water
six days a week
to the poor, the vulnerable
and the disadvantaged.
In 2009 the lack of funding
has resulted in only using
one of the two truck to
provide fresh drinking water.
Your donation keeps this
truck running and water
flowing to those in
need.
Can you help the water truck that delivers 364,000 gallons of
chlorinated water every month?
With a monthly budget of $2,000, we deliver 73,000 five gallon buckets
to the poorest of poor, while at the same time employing four Haitians
to drive the truck and provide for their families.
Can you imagine a
day without water?
Have you ever had parched lips?
What if your children had bacteria and parasites living in their
stomachs causing severe diarrhea and malnutrition from drinking water
out of the sewer?
This is the daily reality for many in Cite Soleil,
Haiti.

Over crowed school rooms are the norm
at Terra Promise Primary School in Cite Soleil.
Even with the
heat and humidity
of a small classroom, these children want to come and
learn.

Remember, you are not only sponsoring a teacher and their family, but
are providing hope for a better future for the 25-30 children they
teach everyday.
Thank you for buying a
little piece of hope!
