- 1 in 8 children die before age 5 from unclean water
- Can you imagine living with no clean water, no food, no
electricity, no sewer system.
- The poor children of Haiti are sometimes fed dirt cookies,
made of dirt
and oil, then baked in the sun because their family cannot afford food
- They eat the dirt cookies so their stomachs will have
something inside
it – or they can’t sleep at night because they are so hungry
- Cite Soleil a densely populated slum located in
Port-au-Prince, the Capitol of Haiti and 300,000 residents are living
in extreme poverty in 9 square miles. No sewers, no
stores, no electricity or running water.
